Tatlin's Tower. Silhouettes of people to scale

Vladimir Tatlin’s Monument to the Third International, known as ‘Tatlin’s Tower’, one of the great unrealised architectural projects of the 20th century. Conceived in 1919-20 as a monument to the Bolshevik Revolution of 1917, and to serve as the headquarters of Comintern which was established for the international propagation of Communism. This visionary steel structure was to stand 400 metres high, straddling the Neva River in St Petersburg.

This 1:40 scaled model was based on original drawings by Vladimir Tatlin made in 1920. Specially commissioned from Jeremy Dixon of Dixon Jones Architects.
