The Damien Hirst art industry is limbering up for the massive sale of his work in September, of some £65 million worth of work, to the chagrin of the dealers. They just have to go with it; there is no arguing with Hirst. The work 'The Golden Calf' tops the bill, estimated at £8-12 million by Sotheby's. This work is partly gold-plated steel and glass, as well as solid gold in parts, and in a formaldehyde solution set on a marble plinth. Also (cheers from the back) there is a new 'Shark' (estimate £6 million). The sale is also directed at buyers in India and the Gulf, as well as the now traditional Russian market.
